Abstract

Offshore engineering systems operate under complex environmental and operational conditions that can affect their reliability, efficiency, safety, and overall performance. This study aims to assess the factors influencing operational performance and identify strategies for optimizing offshore engineering systems. A literature review method was used by examining relevant scientific publications related to system reliability, maintenance, energy efficiency, operational safety, and digital monitoring technologies. The results indicate that environmental loads, equipment degradation, maintenance practices, energy consumption, and operational planning significantly influence system performance. Preventive and predictive maintenance, continuous monitoring, energy management, and digital technologies can help reduce unplanned downtime, improve reliability, and increase operational efficiency. An integrated optimization approach is therefore important to achieve safer, more reliable, efficient, and sustainable offshore operations.
